What is Garbage King?
City-builder mechanics, but the commodity is trash. You start with a single truck and a route nobody wants, then grow into collection routes, sorting facilities, recycling deals, and — if you play it right — the political leverage that comes with being the one person the whole city depends on.
It's early days for documentation on this one. The launch build is out, but the fan wikis haven't caught up yet, which is exactly why we're covering it now.
How it plays
- Route planning — efficiency is everything. A bad route bleeds money fast.
- Economy sim — contracts, landfill costs, recycling margins. Prices move.
- Reputation layer — do the right thing for the city or the right thing for the balance sheet. Both are choices.
Worth a look if
- You like economic sims where you build up from nothing
- City-builders feel too clean and you want some grime
- You want an indie strategy game without a bloated tech tree
Early notes
The core loop is solid but it's a launch-week indie — expect a patch or two. No roadmap announced yet. If the dev keeps shipping, this one has legs as a long-running economy sim.
