Machine Party Max Players — How Many People Can Play?
Officially, Machine Party supports 2–4 players. That's the documented limit — and the community is already modding around it.
2–4 players officially, more with mods.
The Steam page lists "support for 2–4 players." Two is the minimum, four is the documented maximum as of Aug 15, 2026.
The official numbers
- Minimum: 2 players — the games work as a duel.
- Maximum (official): 4 players in online co-op, or shared/split screen locally.
- Remote Play Together: lets you stretch a session to more people on one copy, though the game's own player cap still applies.
Mods for more players
Machine Party is built in a moddable engine and the community moved fast. The MachinePartyTogether mod exists specifically to raise the player cap beyond the official four, and a companion mod (MachineParty+) adds voice and text chat that the base game shipped without. Both appeared within the first week of launch and are being updated regularly — worth checking the community hubs if your group is bigger than four.
Quick checklist
- Official: 2–4 players
- Local split-screen: yes
- Online co-op: yes
- More than 4: possible via mods (MachinePartyTogether), not official
