The Sinking City 2 release date & editions

One date to remember: August 18, 2026. That's when Frogwares' survival horror hits PC, PS5 and Xbox Series X|S. Everything unlocks the same day — except Premium Edition, which lets you in 24 hours early.

August 18, 2026 on PC · PS5 · Xbox Series X|S. Premium Edition players get in 24 hours early (from Aug 17).

Steam, PlayStation Store and Xbox/Microsoft Store all list the same date. Frogwares confirmed it officially. The exact unlock hour hasn't been announced — stores usually surface the countdown a day or two before launch.

The three editions

EditionPriceWhat you get
Standard$49.99Base game + pre-order bonus (Chthonic Arsenal)
Deluxe$54.99Base game + extra content on top of Standard
Premium$59.9924-hour advanced access, Chthonic Arsenal, Arkham Field Kit, Holloway Manor side mission

Prices taken from the Steam store on Aug 17, 2026. The Deluxe's exact contents beyond the base game weren't itemized on the page we checked — if the deluxe extras matter to you, look at the store listing before paying the $5 bump.

What the pre-order bonus gives you

Pre-order any edition by launch and you get the Chthonic Arsenal: three weapons with names only this game could have — the "Shale Mary" handgun, the "Breakwater" shotgun, and the "Tektite Tommy" SMG.

Premium Edition, unpacked

Premium is the edition people are actually arguing about, because of the 24-hour advanced access — Premium buyers can start playing on Aug 17, a full day before everyone else. That's the whole point of the price gap.

If you only care about the early access, note that it's a one-time head start — the value is "be there day one", not a permanent advantage. If you want the Manor mission and the gun, that content is permanent.

Worth knowing

  • No Game Pass at launch, and no Xbox Play Anywhere — confirmed via the XboxHub release coverage.
  • The free demo that ran before launch is no longer listed on Steam (checked September 26, 2026), so pre-order research means watching footage instead of playing it. What the demo contained →
  • Steam lists the game as Windows-only — no Mac or Linux build.
