Is Big Walk Worth It in 2026? The Honest Math
Big Walk is the new co-op adventure from House House — the team behind Untitled Goose Game — published by Panic. It's back to $19.99 now that the 25% launch discount ran out — and that launch price is the reason this page exists. Let's do the honest math.
The short answer
Worth it at $14.99 if you have a friend who commits to the whole thing. Not worth it if you're planning to play solo or with someone who'll drop out after 30 minutes. This is a game built entirely around two people being in the same world at the same time.
How long is it?
Early player reports and previews put a full playthrough at roughly 1.5–2 hours, longer if you dig around and explore. The Verge called it "co-op Breath of the Wild" — the world is dense, but the main path is short. At $14.99 that's roughly $7.50–10 per hour of play. For comparison, Untitled Goose Game was ~3 hours at $15.
What the co-op actually requires
- Two committed humans. Online co-op only — the game is designed so you and a friend get lost in a big world together. No matchmaking with randoms; you need your own friend.
- Same session, ideally same schedule. It's not drop-in-and-out friendly. The magic is two people discovering things at the same time.
- Voice chat helps a lot. A lot of the game is pointing, wandering, and going "wait, come look at this."
Who it's NOT for
- Solo players — there's no single-player mode worth mentioning
- People who want a long campaign — this is a 2-hour afternoon, not a weekend
- Groups of 3+ expecting a party game — it's built for two
