Big Walk
The co-op "walker-talker" from House House, the studio behind Untitled Goose Game, published by Panic. You and up to 11 friends wander a huge world, solve puzzles together, and mostly just talk. Out Aug 4, 2026 with full crossplay.
What is Big Walk?
House House made Untitled Goose Game, one of the most successful small games of the last decade. Big Walk is their follow-up, and it's the opposite of a goose causing havoc: it's a gentle co-op game about walking somewhere with friends. You explore a big, weird world, solve environmental puzzles as a group, and the game deliberately leaves room for conversation — the developers call it a "walker-talker" because the walking is the activity and the talking is the point.
It launched August 4, 2026 on PC, Mac, PS5, and Switch 2, with crossplay between all of them from day one. Critics have been very kind to it — it's sitting at a 91 on Metacritic — and the conversation around it has been unusually lively, with people either calling it one of the best co-op games in years or bouncing off it hard. That split is real, and worth knowing before you buy.
How it plays
- 2 to 12 players in one session. A focused two-person hike or a chaotic group expedition both work.
- Full crossplay — PC, Mac, PS5, and Switch 2 players share sessions via a simple Join Code.
- Puzzle-heavy world. Things need to be moved, activated, and figured out together; there are no timers and no fail states.
- No couch co-op. The game is built for players in separate places, with in-game voice chat designed to be the centerpiece.
- Accessibility options are a big part of the launch: adjustable difficulty, color alternatives, and no timed inputs.
The polarizing part: if you need constant objectives and progression systems, Big Walk will feel aimless. If you've got a friend or a group who just wants to hang out in a beautiful world and figure things out at your own pace, it's quietly special. The r/BigWalk subreddit has been full of both takes since launch, which tells you the game knows what it is and isn't trying to be everything.
Steam price checked Sep 21, 2026: $19.99 full price. The launch discount (-25%, $14.99) has ended.
Worth a look if
- You want a co-op game that's really about hanging out with friends, not competing
- You loved Untitled Goose Game's humor and craft, and want to see what the studio does next
- You have friends on different platforms — the crossplay here is genuinely seamless
Skip it if you need structured goals, or if you play solo — it's designed around other people being in the world with you.
