Short answer: there isn't one. No date, no season, no year. Here's what has actually been said, and how to read the rumors.
The short answer
As of August 24, 2026, Game Science has not announced a release date or even a release window for Black Myth: Zhong Kui. The official word is "PC and consoles", nothing more specific. There's no Steam page either, so nowhere to wishlist yet.
What is actually confirmed
- Platforms: PC plus consoles. PS5 is effectively locked in — the official PlayStation channel published the 15-minute gameplay reveal on August 20, 2026.
- Status: development started in June 2025, right after Wukong's DLC work was underway. This was revealed extremely early by AAA standards.
- The update pattern: Game Science reports progress every August 20. The reveal trailer came then in 2025; the gameplay footage came then in 2026. If a date gets announced, that anniversary is the likeliest moment.
- Awards: it won Surprise of the Year at the Ultra Game Awards 2025 — a measure of hype, not of schedule.
About those "2026" and "2027" dates you've seen
Fan sites have been publishing target windows since the game was announced. None come from Game Science. The math anyone can do is public: dev started June 2025, Wukong took roughly six years, and even an accelerated schedule puts this well beyond the next few quarters. Treat any specific month you see on YouTube thumbnails or aggregator sites as guesswork.

- Gamescom Opening Night Live is where they revealed it — Keighley's show is clearly their venue of choice
- A Steam page appearing is itself news; that usually precedes a dated trailer
