Graveyard Keeper 2 release date: September 22
Graveyard Keeper 2 is out — September 22, 2026 on PC (Steam), PS5, Xbox One and Series X|S, plus Switch and Switch 2, all the same day with no staggered rollout. The date started as a Gematsu report back on August 26. Sony's listing stamped the unlock at 5:00 PM UTC and the game went live on the dot. The free demo that ran from September 14 is no longer listed on Steam (checked September 26, 2026), and the -20% pre-purchase promotion closed with the launch.
What's confirmed
- Launch day: September 22, 2026, simultaneous on PC, PS5, Xbox One, Xbox Series X|S, Switch and Switch 2. Gematsu reported it first on Aug 26; the store pages themselves now print the same date, which is the part that counts.
- PC: Windows only on Steam. Minimum specs are a 13th-gen Intel Core i3, 6 GB RAM and a GeForce GTX 1650 — no Mac or Linux build.
- Unlock time: Sony's PlayStation listing gives 5:00 PM UTC on Sep 22 — 10:00 AM Pacific, 1:00 AM Beijing on the 23rd. Steam's page shows the date with no hour attached.
- Pre-orders: history. Steam's -20% pre-purchase offer (plus the sauna and outfit) closed on September 22 when the game unlocked, and the store now shows $24.99 with no discount.
- The demo: Graveyard Keeper 2 Demo has been free on Steam (app 5075680) since September 14 — enough to decide before you pay.
Steam price, US store, checked Sep 23, 2026. The discount disappeared with the launch exactly as Valve's promo note said it would — $24.99 until the first sale.
What's still open
Day-one patch notes, and whether a physical or deluxe edition shows up later — neither is listed on Steam, and neither changes the date, which turned out correct.
Why the date moved from a vague "2026"
The game was first shown at the Triple-i Initiative showcase in April 2026 with no date beyond the year. Four months later the release-date trailer went out alongside the September 22 confirmation. That was a short pre-order window by design — four weeks — and the 20% off was the launch incentive. It's closed now, so the open question is whether the game is any good: the verdict page below goes into the reviews.
