Halloween: The Game — price, editions and pre-order
The question that comes up in every thread: how much is this going to cost, and what do I actually get? Here's the breakdown straight from the store pages — prices re-checked September 25, 2026.
The standard edition
$39.99 on Steam — that's the confirmed standard price, and the console store listings match it. That gets you the whole game: the 1v4 multiplayer (Michael Myers vs up to four Heroes of Haddonfield) plus the standalone single-player story, "The Night He Came Home."
Standard edition on Steam — $39.99 at launch and still $39.99 on September 25, 2026. No discount has landed since release, so early buyers haven't been undercut.
Deluxe Edition and the pre-order offer
- Deluxe Edition — sold on Steam as a $19.99 "Digital Deluxe Upgrade" on top of the base game, which puts it at $59.99 total. The store page spells out what's inside: an exclusive Inmate Michael Myers skin, two extra civilians (Alexis and Richard), advance access to a Laurie Strode cosmetic, and a digital comic. Any guide quoting different contents is working from the pre-launch placeholder.
- The pre-order offer was live on Steam, PlayStation and Xbox right up to launch. What it includes is store-page detail — nothing about it is required to enjoy the game.
Physical editions
Physical copies were announced on the official site in July 2026, launching October 6, 2026 — about a month after the digital release. The official FAQ flagged that physical editions ship after early access begins, so digital players get the head start. If you're a boxed-copy person, order through the official store rather than scalper listings.
What $39.99 actually covers
Both halves of the game are in the base price: the 1v4 multiplayer (Michael vs up to four Heroes across Haddonfield's dynamic maps) and the standalone single-player story, "The Night He Came Home," played from Michael's perspective. No season-pass rumors, no confirmed live-service barrier at launch — the pre-order FAQ stresses the physical-edition timing, not paywalled content. If the $39.99 figure sounds familiar, it's the same bracket IllFonic's previous multiplayer titles launched in.
Where to buy
- PC: Steam and Epic Games Store
- PlayStation 5: PlayStation Store
- Xbox Series X|S: Microsoft Store
Crossplay is confirmed across all of them, so platform choice is about preference — controller, friends list, or storefront sales — not about who you can play with.
The honest note
- The $19.99 Digital Deluxe Upgrade is cosmetic-led — a skin, two civilians, early access to a Laurie Strode cosmetic and a comic. Nothing on the store page promises extra maps or modes, so buy it for the cosmetics rather than for content.
- Physical editions cost more than $39.99 and launch a month later; they're for collectors, not value hunters.
- Refused classification in Australia at one point — check regional availability before getting attached.
