How long to beat BRIGANDINE ABYSS
Straight answer up front: there's no official playtime yet. Neither Steam nor the publisher has published one, and player-submitted trackers don't have enough data the day after launch. What we can do is read the game's structure — six story campaigns, 24 Mission Mode nations, 24 challenge scenarios — and give you an honest estimate of what to expect.
What the structure tells us
- Story Mode: six nations, six full campaigns. One campaign is the baseline "beat the game" run. Faction choice changes perspective and win condition, not the map size, so a first campaign is the longest one.
- Mission Mode: 24 nations, each with its own win condition. These are designed as replays with different rules — shorter than a story run by intent, but still full campaigns.
- Challenge scenarios: 24 of them, per launch reviews (Noisy Pixel) — self-contained maps with special rules like "only one unit type" or "no base upgrades." These are the "one evening each" content.
Noisy Pixel's launch review uses the phrase "an obscene amount of content" and explicitly notes that a second story run goes much faster than the first once you understand the systems. That's the honest shape of it: one long first campaign, then everything shrinks as you get it.
Why there's no number yet
Brigandine games are hard to give a single length to, because the series has always been campaign-per-faction. Runersia (the 2020 predecessor) had the same structure and its community-quoted times varied wildly depending on whether you played one nation or tried to conquer the map with all of them. Expect the same spread here. The factor that moves the needle most is how many nations you actually play, not which difficulty you pick.
What affects your time most
- Early expansion speed. Income scales with bases held, and base upgrades gate the level-20 final class changes. Slow starts stretch campaigns.
- Quest usage. Sending squads on quests for materials and equipment is the difference between a tight campaign and a grind.
- How many of the 24 Mission nations you try. This is where "how long to beat" stops being one number.

We'll update it with real player numbers once they exist. For now: expect a first Story Mode campaign to be a serious multi-session commitment, and expect the second one to surprise you by how much faster it goes. If 100+ hours of a genre you like sounds good, this isn't a short game. If you're time-poor, the demo on Steam is free and tells you exactly how this one plays before you commit.
